Welcome to Harvest

/files/Images/joel_family.jpg

Whether you’re new to our family or visiting with us for the first time, thanks for
giving us the opportunity to share what God is doing through Harvest Bible Chapel.
Our paramount desire is to make and mobilize passionate followers of Jesus Christ.
And it’s our intent to do that within a community committed to preaching the truth
in love in a contemporary, yet uncompromising manner.

We appreciate you taking the time to learn a little more about who we are, what that

all means practically and how you might fit into our Harvest family.

As a father of five kids, I can remember and appreciate the process you may be going

through trying new churches—hauling kids around, evaluating various aspects of the

ministries and listening to discern if God’s Spirit is giving you that nudge—the sense that

“this could be home.”

Although each person’s process may vary, finding a church home typically starts with some basic questions:

  •     So where did this church come from?
  •     What do they teach and believe?
  •     What can I expect if I show up?
  •     Is there a place for me? For my family?
  •     What are the next steps?

We hope that this material will begin to answer those questions for you.
And if there is anything else you’d like to talk about, give us a call or an
email at info@hbcorlando.org. We’d love to get to know you, pray for you,
and help you explore what we’re excited about here at Harvest.

All for Christ,

Joel Anderson
Senior Pastor
Harvest Bible Chapel Orlando

Joel Anderson's Bio

Joel has been serving church and para-church organizations for the past 16 years, receiving his bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College and his Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

During the first of six short-term overseas missions trips, Joel responded to a call to full-time ministry. He and his wife, Jill, then moved to the Chicago area and joined the staff of Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. For five years Joel served there as the children’s and junior high pastor, and started a young adult and young married couples’ ministries.

In March 2001, Harvest commissioned Joel and a group from within the church to plant the second Harvest Bible Chapel church plant in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

In November 2007, the Anderson’s responded to the door of ministry the Lord had opened in the Orlando area—a core group of people eager to plant another new Harvest.

Joel and Jill have five young daughters. In addition to loving their work at the church, their family enjoys swimming, going to the beach, reading, playing chase and hide-and-go-seek, and all things coffee and chocolate. (Mom and Dad only on the coffee!)

Joel’s mantra for life and ministry is found in Hebrews 6:9: “Beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you…”
